I am replacing the safety chain on my trailor and picked up a 5000lb rated set made by Reese. I noticed instead of the typical hooks it has two large links with the screw on /off section on each link. The picture showed running the chain through the chain hole on the vehicle and then attaching one end of the chain to the chain behind the vehicle. Guess it makes for easier adjusting of the chains? Should I do this or buy a couple of large hooks? Any problem with just attaching the clips directly to the opening if I don't need to adjust the chain?
