sail outboards

Hey guys wats up,I was on ebay today and i saw these outboards called Sail. Has anyone else seen these before? Are they any good they have good deals!!

Ok my first thought is where are you going to find parts and service.They may be fine motors but you are going to need parts at some point and who knows where or how long they may be available.
I would stay away until they are proven reliable and
backed with parts and serevice.

Many are exact copies of old, EPA prohibited Yamaha designs. Which solves the parts & service problem. Origin is mainland China. I tried to track down the factory but didn't get too far. Some suspicions but nut much further.

The lack of complaining on Yamaha's part leads me to suspect they're actually being produced under license.

EDIT: Oh, but the 4 strokes are the same as new Yamahas. So that would suggest copying w/o a license. I wonder why Yamaha isn't complaining?

I'm thinking of getting one ... just to test it and see how it runs .... they not really that cheap though ....
