Hi...new to forum.
I dug my Chrysler sailor 10 {or 9.9 autoelectric..not sure] out of my basement after ten year of resting. It wouldn't fire. It ran fine before I stored it .It has good compression, suspecting a gummed carb, I sprayed starting fluid into the cylinder, reinstalled the same plug with no start. It wasn't quite dark and I removed the plug grounded it with a small wire and alligater clip but couldn't see a spark in the plug. Any ideas? I'm thinking that the ignition is magneto and has no moving parts to gum up. I do notice that there is a wired CDI module bolted to the head, does that mean I do not have a magneto system?
Is there a way to check the CDI module?

Thank you in advance

If you have a CDI box, then it is definitely not magneto ignition. SOME of these ignition systems did still use points as a signal so first thing you want to do is pull the flywheel and see if there are points under it. If there are, clean them and regap to .020.

Thank you. That gives me hope that points might be my issue...getting crudded up over time. I saw a parts list that didn't show any points are there point-less cdi systems? [please
excuse the pun]
