Re: Sailfish
Hello, in 1995 we purchsed a new Sailfish model 176 with a 90 hp merc. They were made by Seminole Marine in Florida, I heard they may now be in Georgia. The last address I have on them is P.O. Box 1066, Havana, FL 32333. Phone number was 904-539-9803. The 17-1/2' model we had is no longer made by them as it was a Seacraft mold. It was different then the 17'CC they make now. I can only tell you it was a decent boat. We have owned Grady's and Whalers as well, and I would not put it on par with those brands but it's more inline with a Seapro or middle of the road brand. Their clam to fame in the mid 90's was that the Florida Marine police and fisheries Depts used their boats and they held up to the daily use well. The one we had was similar to a comercial grade boat in that it was solid, but lacked finish in non surface areas like livewells and under the sole (flooring)it also has a 60 gal tank you could run all weekend. We used it for 4 years and replaced it with a Grady. I have seen newer ones, in fact there is a 15'CC used by our marina personnel, it's powered with a 70hp and it flys. It seems to be finished off a little better then our 1995 was. Hope I was of some help, good luck, Glenn
