The most important thing to do is flush your engine after every use in salt water, but going back and fourth will not hurt the engine.

You wont do any damage unless you fail to properly flush your engine after each use in saltwater.

What is a reasonable time to flush the engine?
Do you guys take the prop off before?
How long do I have between taking out of Salt and flushing before problems get a start?

Hi Mark
If you moore in salt water it is not always possble to flush after every use. I try to haul out and flush at least once a month. This is a good time to do a thorough cleaning and greesing. Every six months would be a good time to remove the L/U and greese the driveshaft splines, etc. It is proudent to fresh water rinse or wash the entire boat after each use. At trip to the fuel dock and back to the slip, I give it a rinse. Four hour trip, gets a wash. There is no set amount of time because it depends on so many veriables. The OEM's never say exactly about salt water maint, intervals, just that you need to increese them. Since I run mostly salt I have not concept of increesed. To me it is just reg maint. If you keep your eye on things you will develope your own routine. If you start having problems in an area then you will know to increese attention there. Some motors can go years and only have the pivot bushing greesed once a year. Others won't go more than a week. When flushing 4-5 min. should do.
