Re: Salt Water Fishing License Info - All New England States
Some of the towns out here on Long Island got the law thrown out for them. It seems that Colonial Charters give the towns exclusive rights to regulate fishing. That supercedes the state's rights. The weird thing is that if two fisherman in two same boats are fishing next to each other in Long Island Sound and one is from Conneticut and the other is from Patchogue NY, the one from Conn needs a license while the one form NY doesn't. If a third fisherman is nearby and he's from New York City, he also needs a license. Go figure!
