Boomyal, don't know if you got an axe to grind with Chrysler or me with the mad face, but it has an appointment Wednesday at a different dealer to do a diagnostic run on it.
But after doing some more research and some more testing I am leaning to the MAP sensor as being a little weak on the input side when put under a load and thus not telling the computer to adjust the fuel intake needed for the amount of foot pressure I am putting to it.

Will keep you informed.

Electronics... computers were introduced to the
automobile to meet C.A.F.E regulations set by
the government for emission standards.
"Cooperate average fuel economy" in 1973.

Not at all directed at you SPN. Just trying to help. I've been there and done all that and spent a fortune to boot. Your symptoms sound just like mine. Sensors, injectors, filters, fuel pump and everything else showing below par. Replace, replace, replace. $$$$$.
Finally bit the bullet, took it to the dealer, got their co-pilot to go and eventually a new computer. Good Luck

Talked to both dealers about this the other day when you first posted that and they give me that look, you know, the , HUH? look.

It continuously moniters every function/sensor in the vehicle while retaining an approximate 10 second memory stream. When you get an occurrence you push a button and it saves the data stream from the 10 seconds b4 you hit the button to 10 seconds after you hit the button. It will record 3 such episodes. You take it back after the 3 recorded episodes and they download onto their computer and read the data.
The Keyword here is "I Think". Print this out and read it to them. If it has another name they will know it by this description.

If they don't maybe this "IN THE STICKS HERE IN "KENTUCKY" has something to do with it. ;)

Lord I hope its not your ECM. When my Jeep went down, they had it for several days, they checked everything, and finally took a spare ECM and installed it and it worked. They could never get any codes or anything. Now the Jeep runs fine.

We'll do! I hope this is the trick. I wont know for a while till I make a trip to melborn or such. BTW, I do not get a ck eng. light ever, never used the code system yet and I'm reluctant to try due to no faith in computor and/or mechanics ability (down here), But my ABS light has been on from day one. Buddy says, that aint right :( :)

The next time you get a chance oddjob, do this;
Stick the key in the ignition and turn it on, off, on, off and on. Then watch the check engine light.
If it is holding any codes it will flash that number of times.
IE: flash, flash, pause, flash, flash, flash= 23
See if you get anything.
I will check on the ABS light for you.

oddjob, depending on if you have ABS at all 4 wheels or just 2, you have a bad sensor on one or more of them telling the light to come on.
Dirty, wet, or just plain bad.

Check all the connections to the ABS to make sure a wire is not broke.
Also check the fuse for ABS.
I think it is on with rear defogger if you have it.

Also check fluid level in the reservoir. My fluid level dropped just a millimeter (well... not very far) and the ABS light came on. Added fluid and *voila*, no more light.
Just something else to consider.

Re: Same Jeep different problem

Glad to hear the problem is fixed. Sure sounds like and ignition module problem. We had the same problems with an S10. Never gave a computer code when it went bad and the truck always acted good to the mechanic. Took it to the dealer and they found the problem and fixed it.
