Hello! I just finished painting my boat w/ Brightside.

I've reviewed the product information sheet and can't find anything relative to buffing.

Any info regarding buffing is nice, but I really want to know if it's ok to sand & buff about 5 days after painting.

Thanks,
Caleb

Re: Sanding & Buffing Brightside

I'm not sure it is recommended, but I had ok results with it when i tried. It is a really soft paint if you're used to two part urethane auto or marine paints. It also takes weeks to fully harden 9and is still soft by my standards).

I'd let it go for at least a few weeks and then try a few spots with polishing compound or light duty rubbing compound and lambs wool at 200 rpms or so to see how it looks... before I strated sanding...

Not an expert, but that's what i would try...

That paint is not buffed out. If applied properly it stays nice as is and only has to be washed.

Why do you want to sand and buff the paint?

With enough coats it will have a good shine and if applied properly will lay flat.
Are you trying to correct one of these?

Bright Sides is not a two part poly paint. It can be sanded and buffed to the same luster as the orignal finish. As wca has said its a soft paint..cut it and build to a high luster and that is done with high grit paper and buffing...;)

But you have to do the entire paint finish or you will see the difraction.
