sank my boat

sank my 1978 80hp 4 cylinder today, got boat out of lake, pulled plugs, what else should I do.

Drain the carbs, and get as much water out as you can, with the plugs out turn her over to get the water out of the cylinders. Take the cap off the dist and wipe it out. Use alcohol and wd 40 which will combine with water and help it evaporate. Then take her back to the lake and see if she will start. If she does run her until all the water is out and the engine warms everything up (several hours). If it will not start, you may have to tear her apart. Good luck JR

Rubbing alcohol, add a little extra 2 stroke oil to your gas when you torch her off, and keep her running until she gets real warm. JR

Biggie, They say to run the motor for 1.5 hours to make sure it is dried out.
