I picked this up when selling alum at the recyclers It was there sold for scrap by the pound alum.

Dang, i've never seen one that could be started that way, is the compression good? If so, very sweet man.

I've got the same motor that I picked up off CL for $75. The PO broke a recoil spring and gave up trying to fix it two years ago. I put an impeller in it and started it right up the same way you did. I did have to replace the seals in the LU, but its going to make a dandy kicker motor for my boat.
