Just tossing this out there...
We have quite a few (over a hundred) SC members here..
What do you guys think of having a "Board of Directors" ??

Just a title (honor) that recognizes those acomplishments and their genuine & sincere efforts to help new members, old members and basically makes this site ENJOYABLE!

Some rules? I dunno..Lets see..

Has to be "nominated"
Must have been onboard for at least a year (?)
Hold an iboats rank of ------------ ?
Gets to put in his sig "Starcraft Board of Directors 2009-2010
Limit the Board to _______________ amount of Members??

Any other thoughts or ideas, well lets hear them!

I nominate North Beach!

Re: SC Old Timer Tinny B.O.D.

NB was probably the reason I had to have a Starcraft aluminum boat. After seeing the Liquid LImo resto I was sold. Not that there wern't other restos to add to the excellent information here but his was the tipping point for me. That and the very friendly reception of all members. There is ALWAYS someone here to help out.

NB was the first to post in my resto thread. He knows a lot about boats and is there if you need him. He puts time into this site too. I mentioned I couldn't keep track of all the restorations on this site and he stickied them all for us.

I'm sure there are other guys here that are just as qualified and passionate about Starcraft boats and helping out us galloops. Then again maybe not. The Grand Poobah has my vote.

Sounds good to me Kev.

I second that motion and like the idea. What exactly would the board direct? Really dosen't matter, I'll follow him/them.
To continue nominations, I suggest (in order)
NB
EZ
HA
BD
CBK

I'd like to consider myself more of an ambassador than a director. I think the same designation would apply nicely to CBK and HA as well.

When I clicked on this I was thinking that there would be photos of CBK's bod. You can imagine my disappointment now.

Kidding! Joke! Just a joke, little sarcasm you know. Sorry:D

I agree that NB is worthy of a sweet title...I still like "The Godfather of Tin":D

CBK is our Secretary of Defense;) (don't be thrown off by having secretary in the title...this is a position of great honor:cool:)

That's the best ginger ale I ever had. I drank it out of the cup though and kept coughing as I inhaled the fizz. Fizziest stuff ever!

Re: SC Old Timer Tinny B.O.D.

OK, CBK's bod aside...

I was actually thinking the same thing just a few days ago. You know, well, becoming organized sort of.

I'm not sure if it's a bad idea or if it's a really super idea (though I tend to think it would be cool)??? It's always a risk putting some sort of structure or political model into what is otherwise a free flowing, interesting looking, amoeba type of blob. fshngho asked a great question, "What would they direct?"

And just for the record, the "they" in my book would be EZ, HA, NB, CBK, HSF. I think these 5 dudes are excellent representations of what this blob is all about.

Cheers!

Re: SC Old Timer Tinny B.O.D.

Going against the grain a little bit - the only other board I visit is the Buffalo Bills Board - and I mostly just read. But on that board their are a handful of posters who seem to "run" the board - they corral, praise, punish etc....it just sometimes seems like they have taken control of it and made it "their" forum.

Not sure if the same could/would happen here - as what possibly bad could one say about Sc's? - Whereas our Bills - well there is plenty of ideas on what to do.

If you guys are going to go down that path I suggest determining what exactly are you going to do - plus the great thing - I beleive about this forum is people come and go, get active then slow down, but it has reached its own critical mass whereas if all the BOD's would disappear - the board would go on fine.

Just my 2c - my wife thinks I am crazy - but this and the resto forum I check everyday!
