this is the deal.<br /><br />When you ask a question you invite a number of answers. Maybe they are all correct on the basis of the limited information given out. <br /><br />If you go down that avenue and it is a dead end you backtrack and try a different route.<br /><br />Nobody on this forum says "this IS the answer " but rather "this may be the answer."<br /><br />Personally I woild always be wary of the man who says everybody else talks crap.<br /><br />We all talk crap sametime.<br /><br />Don't we Dunk ?

If everyone is in agreement, I would like to ask the 'Administrator' to remove this topic from our forum. I hope we all learned something from this discussion (I know I did). Leaving this topic open does none of us any good, and just knowing it exists, takes the fun out of things. I have no hard feelings. I am saddened to notice the absents of technical comments from some of the finer gentlemen of this forum. Hope they return more often when all this dust settles......<br />

I've got to say that I've been following this forum for awhile now & I have read with interest the many comments made by 12 Footer. He's helped many folks with his timely advice. I've really been pleased by the recent addition of Schematic to this board. His technical expertise, particularly in the area of marine electronics, is noteworthy. I can only hope they have thick skins and won't be discouraged by Dunk's comments. <br />Backlash

The more often you reply, the more likely you are to be mistaken occasionally. No one in here has a perfect record... If I were to speak only from personal-hands on experience...I'd remain quiet most the time. However, I do feel there's value in passing along what I believe is good information...whether it came from something I read in a boating magazine, or a conversation I had with my Merc tech. buddy...or even something I heard on the boat ramp. Who's to say what someone else may find of value?<br /><br />It sounds like everyone is on the same page here...I'm with many of you who say, "Let's move on."<br /><br />Walt

I agree Walter, As far as removing this topic, I disagree. Yes controversy can be uncomfortable, but to say this thread has no value? When should it have been removed? Before 12Footer could reply? or just before Hondon could wiegh in? Hey, this is life and I think its pretty cool regardless of how messy it can get.

Here Here to Evin300, I agree, you don't hide or ignore what you don't like. Think what our history books would read like, (or do read like for that matter) if you hid all that was uncomfortable. Let all who wish to read, read, all that don't want to read the same. This should be to each individual to decide, and it shows what kind of people we are dealing with, and I must say I am impressed with all I have read so far. I too have stuck my foot in my mouth a few times after a couple of beers, and not always been big enough to exit gracefully as I think Dunk has. I also don't always agree with everthing and not big enough to sound off. My hats off to all ... Dunk, 12foot, and schematic. When everyone's tired of this thread let it drift off like the rest...

I was hoping this thing as done after my last post, but I deserved everything that was said. I even think you went easy on me. It was a butthead thing to do and I do apologize. I to rather see this post disapear. There enough stupidty on this planet now without this hanging around.

I agree with schematic and 12 footer. Get rid of this topic in the engines and motors section of the bulletin board - or move it to the section that has nothing to do with boating. Dunk, I believe you already apologized once - that should be enough (don't go beating yourself up over this). For those that like controversy - that's fine, but please try and keep it to a minimum in this section of the board. People come here for help and advice. Thanks.
