Wonderful invention,
removes peer pressure from a fashion perspective. Instills discipline and is a wonderful equaliser. They create a sense of a "team" and unite all under one common goal. It can also be a cultural experience to wear "the old tie" as sometimes it carries hundreds of years of tradition. Show me one sports team that does not have a uniform??? Show me one army that does not a have a uniform. It serves more than just and identifier but is a unifier of a common goal and purpose it can also be used to show rank. Finally it is the cheap alternative.
