I know of the MMI school down in Fla. Which from what I hear is a really good school for those that want to get into boating mechs. But does anyone know of any other schools out there that offer training. (maybe a little closer to NC. I am a full time single parent and cant go to FLa at this time.

Any suggestion would be very helpful

Thanks
David Guy
visiondguy@aol.com

Re: schooling

I would suggest that you check with your state vocational schools. Washington State has three that provide training for the marine mechanic. Alot cheaper than MMI (I would think) but remember, that the state schools don't necessarilary have all the latest info, product and factory assistance that others may have. Mercury has pretty much gone away from their "factory" schools and use community colleges and trade schools to train their techs. Therefore, I presume those schools may have specific training for the general public....
