Schooner sailing trip with pictures

Thought I would share a few pics with you guys from my recent sailing trip aboard the Schooner Virginia. She's a twin masted pilot schooner about 130 feet in length. Two other cadets and myself from our MCJROTC program at school received scholarships to spend a week of sail training on the schooner. I love sailing on my dad's 25' McGregor and also love sailing lasers and sunfish etc, so I thought it would be a great trip and I wasn't disappointed!
The plan was to leave Norfolk VA on Saturday and arrive in New London, CT on Friday morning. Bad weather forced us to take shelter in the upper Chesapeake (Fishing Bay in Deltaville vA) on Sunday, however by Monday morning it had cleaned and we headed out into the ocean. Weather was nice for the most part, a bit slow on Tuesday and we actually had to fire up the 250HP CATs for a while because wind was nonexistent. Wind picked up after we got farther offshore. Top speed of the trip was 12 knots on Wednesday night about 2 AM in 3-5 foot waves while I was on watch at the helm. Going aloft was another highlight as well.
