Not a fan of what they are doing ... seems like there could be some unexpectedly bad consequences ... why do they want to make a Wooly Mammoth?

The woolly mammoth?
I love woolen sweaters that's why. But seriously, the only reason I can think of is the somehow romantic idea of bringing back something that is fresh in nordic memory and big and spectacular.

Me showoff ! Look at me !
I also brought back with them some very terrible diseases with no cures possible.
Am I not terrific ?
Call me cynical but I think that those involved in such activity are far more interested in notoriety and fame than the actual un-extincting any animal ,and have little or no regard for the unknown impact this may have on nature.
The money spent on such folly would be better invested in preserving what we have left.๐Ÿ™‚

That money could go a long way toward things like helping find better treatment for people with mental health problems.

Yes! Or even just better access for those in need would be a good thing ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚.

First dire wolf. Then mammoth. Eventually they'll get to dinosaurs. Whole movie series on why any of this is a bad idea.

According to my news broadcast, they have been extinct for 13000 years !! Had to rewatch the broadcast a couple times to be sure I heard that correctly....how do we know what they looked like and what their traits were like ? For all we know is, they created a white dog to make themselves famous......seems like a bug waste of time and money !

DNA from 13,000 year old specimens

"The company then used the information from the genetic analysis to alter gray wolf cells, making 20 edits in 14 genes before cloning the most promising cell lines and transferring them into donor eggs from domestic dogs

When a scientist was interviewed, she stated " they look and act exactly like Dire Wolves".... How would anyone know, last one was 13000 years ago, so who was there to know that ?
