Scored cyl Walls

I have a 1979 100hp Johnson. # 1& 3 Cyl walls are scored. My question is can I just have 1 & 3 bored or do I have to have all 4 cyls bored?<br />I under stand that I will have to have them Bored to .030 because I cam only buy replacements that are that size.<br /><br />JR

Sure, you can bore those two only. No Problem but I think pistons are be available in .010, .020, and .030 over.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

Hi Hooty,<br />Thanks for the information.<br />It has been over 10 yrs that I last worked on OMC motors and I couldn't find it in any of the manuals that I have.<br /><br />JR

Yes, you can bore only those two but I'll bet that once you measure the other two cylinders they will be out of specs (worn). Wiseco makes .020, .030, .044 and .064 oversize pistons for your motor. <br /><br />Good luck!
