Scot Atwar - ever heard of it?

Hi Everyone:<br /><br />My older brother has a "Scot Atwar" 5 hp Outboard motor and is interested in finding out about the product and the company. Does anyone know were I Might find some information on this motor? Also, were would I find like products being sold? Thanks for your help.

Your bro has a Scott-Atwater outboard, a very popular make in the 40s and 50s. Good little motors. Post the serial number and maybe I can date it for you. This website offers a Scott-Atwater service manual on CD:<br />www.acmeoutboards.com<br />I have one and have found it invaluable. Check the serial number to date the motor first though.

Gotta love those Bail-A-Matics! Had a 40 back when I was a kid. They were bought by McCulloch in the 1960s but that didn't last long.
