Remember these old motor had a self bailer on them that you would throw in the bottom of the boat. This seemed like a great idea then and now... Why was this idea not picked up by todays outboards? Were they a problem? I've always wondered why?

Ive heard the pump for the bailer could be a problem injesting junk from the bilge.
