scott atwater 7.5

I inquired about a scott atwater 7.5 but the lady could only tell me it belonged to her late husband an had not been run for 8 years but it does turn over. what year could this be, whats the fuel/oil ratio, and are parts available.

Scott Atwater made outboards from the late 30's through the late 50's, before being absorbed by Scott-McCollough...which later became McCullough chain saws and other power equipment. Hard to tell/guess what year it could be without a photo or info such as model and serial number. If you can get the numbers and post them, I can probably date it for you. Gas/oil mix is probably 16:1 and parts are not available, unless you have another laying around just like it. Nice motors though, strong and reliable for their time and proved pretty popular too.
