I have a Scott-Atwater 467 137330 (1946 3.5 HP) and need a piston, rings, and connecting rod. Would a 1955 model parts be the same specs. and/or the complete working pwr. head swap without problems/modification

Re: Scott-Atwater parts interchange

I have small 3.6 Scott's; one a 48 or so and the other a 61 or 2. They look really similar but I'd check with an expert like the Scott Guy. You can find him on-line and he does answer questions. He can give you the definitive. It's a smart move if you can replace the whole powerhead instead of messing with the internals. I'm sure you've seen complete powerheads on ebay for dirt cheap. The way to go.

The '46 had a 4-bolt cylinder head, later ones had 6. I'd have to compare parts books to tell what else is different.

Re: Scott-Atwater parts interchange

Thanks for both replies. I am aware of "the Scott guy" , but Ebay has a 1955 3.6 HP powerhead for 1/3 of his cost and accept paypal ! Also, the change from 4 to 6 bolt head pattern. There seems to be some casting differences, but my main concerns are the topside on the 1955 has a square"ish" casting with approx 5 bolts below the topside "below magneto" which my "46" does not ; and would the crankshaft diameter and length be the same . I need a whole power head. After clean up and hone of the cylinder a crack was found!: Just finishing final floor/seats install "weather permitting" on my 1967 Crestliner Del Rio with 1974 Johnson 115. Thanks for all advice within these forums. Picts soon!:D

2013-05-16 06.51.17.jpg2013-05-16 06.57.16.jpg This is the 1946 , 3.6 HP powerhead #463 with the straight Water Jacket for pick up tube. Would a powerhead with cast #462 / transom clamps # 462-2408 work? It is a 1946 Firestone 3.5 HP.
