Thanks yeah I'm not putting it in gear because I'm afraid to if the idle is as high as the tach is reading. My Faria tach is wired correctly but there has been a question about if the pole setting on the rear of the tach is set correctly, that's why I got the Tiny Tach to compare.I do have a question about the set up on the Tiny Tach but I think I got it right as the other two settings were worse. A standard two stroke 2 cyl spark plug will fire with each revolution doesn't it? I couldn't find any info on my engine about that but I assume that's correct. If it is then it should be giving me correct readings and then that puts me at a total loss. I think I'm going to get up the courage and go ahead and put it in gear. If it goes into gear smoothly than I'm not going to worry about it,if not then I have to find a way to get it down...wish me luck!
P.S. When I first start it I'm putting it in fast idle for a few minutes until it warms up a little bit then I'm dropping it down to my lowest rpm setting, that's what your hearing.
