Is it a good idea to use sea foam as an additive to your gas to reduce carbon buildup and will it really work on an older 1989 50hp force

thnx
mark

I bought a motor that was 10 years old. Used sea foam , motor ran better and even gained 300 rpm's. Great stuff !!!!

well, if you add it to the gas it will evnetually go through the carbs so either way i dont think it matters...but i may be wrong..

Re: sea foam

You can use it in the fuel at 1 ounce per gallon as a stabilizer and fuel system cleaner, as well as prevention of carbon buildup.
At high concentrations, it can be used to decarb the motor.
But I buy and use the aerosol version (Deep Creep) when I decarb.

note, this is not a substitution for a real carb rebuild.
