I inherited a 1951 Sea King 3 HP that has been in storage a while. Job 1 is to free up or replace the transom screws, which won't budge no matter how much penetrating oil and persuasion I use. One broke off and will need to be replaced, anyway.
Anyone know how best to free them up? Any source of replacements if I have to cut them off and start over?

Have you tried PB Blaster? It looks like you could put a heavy hammer on one side of the threaded bore and tap carefully on the other side.A little judicial application of heat may help.
Simplest way may be to find a new mounting bracket assembly and replace it.ebay perhaps or at www.aomci.org Before going too far you may want to check compression, spark, and the gearcase.Spark should be easy to solve.
On the old style ign.they are pretty bullet proof cleaning and setting points usually works. If the newer unit with a plastic coil these are readily available.
