sea ray bench seat ideas. stuck!

I just got a 1989 sea ray sundancer 22da and these ones have a bench seat that either flips forward or back. id like to keep it pointed back but need to sort out a bench situation for the front part. Here is what my space looks like. racking my head for solutions. it looks like its super akward to mount anything. im thinking about just getting starboard and extending forward to make a nice flat peice that i can mount anything off of. thoughts?

It almost looks like it would be easier to remove that and the rear bench and make a subframe that you can attach both pieces to and make a front cushion. This way you can maintain a better seat back angle for both seats, assuming that there is enough room. Possibly hinge the back end and use the current front latch on the front end.
