Hello,

Uhh.. there's no http://www.edmunds.com for boats - so as a first time new boat buyer, I'm flying blind on good and bad pricing!

We're doing some new boat shopping and I think we've settled on a 2003 Sea Ray 182SRX (190 Alpha) with the Captains Chair at the helm, and the flip out lounger opposite. List price is $24,057 and we've settled on $18,295 after all the discounts applied. Can I go lower than this?

We're looking at a Crownline today, and we'll see where they come in as well.

Thanks and have a great day!

Ry.

You're right, Edmunds does not do boats, but NADA does..........

http://www2.nadaguides.com/

Boats, trailers, PWC's and other rec vehicles. Have at it......

Forgot the most important part.....go with the Crownline if you can afford the added cost.

Stick with the Sea Ray, Crownline is just a fancy Bayliner. Thats a Good price, more than 20% off list. They're is Bus.and have to feed the Kids also.Have fun Boating. (The two best days of your life are the day you buy your Boat & the day you Sell it. :D

Comparison shopping with other dealers will work better than trying to calculate discounts. Either the boat is worth the price to you or not. Regardless of perceived discount.

I would expect the Crownline to be more expensive as it is more refined than the Sea Ray 182SRX. Better comparisons against this Sea Ray may be the Chaparral 183 and Ebbtide 180.

Here is another thread on the Sea Ray 182SRX - 03 182 srx

Kelly Cook

Do a search in http://www.yachtworld.com/listing/yw_quick_search_form.jsp for your boat, you'll see what the average price is. Do your search for 2002-2003, I saw about a dozen different SeaRays for sale. What else is interesting is you can see how much the boat depreciates by checking the price on previous years. Happy shopping.

Sea Ray is just an overpriced Bayliner. Go with Crownline.
