Re: Sea Star boat

I used to have a '72 Sea Star Wildcat 15'. I sold it 4 years ago to buy my Wellcraft.

There is next to nothing in the way of information about these boats on the internet.
The parent company was Glastex Co. in Tinley Park Illinois. They also built Speed Queen and Mach 1 boats. Sea Stars were only built from 1962 till the mid 70's. Other that the 15ft Wildcat, the only other model name that I've ever heard was Montego for the 18ft.

Here are about the only websites that I ever found with any info about them. As you can see, next to nothing.

And here's a pic of my old girl.

Re: Sea Star boat

Hi Guys, I have an update and a correction on the Sea Star genealogy. I just bought what was being sold as a 1965, 14' Starcraft. I noticed some subtle differences from two Starcrafts I used to own, and started to investigate. The first answer I got was the Glastex connection. However, after looking deeper, I found that my Sea Star was actually built by Ohio marine in Minerva, Ohio. I found some documentation stamped under the bow that verifies this. Ohio Marine may have been taken over by Glastex after 1965.
