2002 Mercruiser 260hp Alpha- raw water cooled- in regards to the sea water pump (on the block)- are they typically metal impeller or rubber like the outdrive?

Also- going to change plugs in this engine- any replacement type (AC Delco, Champion, etc) - recommended more than others?

Are remote oil filter kits worth it? With the inverted filter they seem like they make more mess when changing..

the water pump (on the block)is metal but it uses marine grade metals inside like bronze and SS to stand up to raw water

i here great things about AC plugs and nothing good about Champion

remote filter depends on if you motor install allows the filter to be changed some do some dont

tommays

To further clarify the pumps. The sea water pump (aka raw water pump) is a rubber impeller pump in the outdrive, the pump on the front of the engine is known as a circulating pump, and only circulates water through the engine, not into the manifolds.
Like tommays said on the plugs, AC, NGK, Bosch plugs are all great plugs.....avoid Champions,
