The transom on my project boat is a little bit rotted around the motor bolt's holes. I was thinking about using sea cast after all of the success stories i have read about here but i am a little wary. How can epoxy take the place of wood glassed with epoxy. Also since the transom is only rotted a small amount around the bolt holes and the guy i bought it from said the transom had been replaced just a couple of years ago can i just hollow out the general area of the engine. The wood is still perfectly encased in fiberglass elsewhere. Also do i have to cut the cap off the gunnels. let me know what you guys think
thanks

Seacast or no - keep in mind that rot is a fungus and unless completely removed or killed will continue to grow.
