Many of us went this route and yeh it works good.

Nida-pour is half the cost of seacast and just as good..
Google it. They will send you a free gal sample pail if you ask, can't beat that.

I concur with jonesq - go the NIDA core route. It's cheaper and easier to use than Seacast. I did a NIDA transom job this spring, and the worst part is what you are doing now. Once the wood is out of the transom mixing and pouring the NIDA core is pretty easy, I did it by myself. I am amazed at how solid the stuff is; I can't flex it at all horsing on the lower unit of my outboard.

NIDA has a website and great tech support. Call them and they will help you on the project. They also have a diagram that calculates the amount of material for the volume of your transom.

You are pretty close to Florida. I'm up in the NW and it cost $105.00 to have 6 gallons for NIDA shipped up here so your shipping should be much less.
