I need to cover a few small slippery areas on my boat with something with more traction. Total I'm looking at only about 6 sq. feet in 3 different places, and I'll have to make my own templates. I'm looking at Seadek or Hydro-turf. Price looks to be about the same for the small area I'm looking at. I like the look of the Seadek better. Pros and Cons of these 2 materials? Is there another choice?

Thanks!

Re: Seadek vs. Hydro-turf or Other?

I used Hydro-turf on my swim platform and am very pleased with it. The non-skid is excellent and it has held up very well over 2 summers.

The application was very easy. The most difficult part was making the patterns around my swim ladder.
I used heavy brown shipping paper to make the patterns.
Make sure that you use a sharp carpet or X-acto knife and use a steel ruler to guide your cuts.

I don't know if Seadek offers it, but Hydro-turf offers a 3M adhesive backing for extra money. Get it.
It's much easier to apply compared to using a separate glue.
Here are some pics of my installation.
