Hi everyone

I just purchased a 94 Stratos F/S and I love it but my wife does not. So, believe it or not, she said I could keep it, but she wants to get a ski boat for the family. She wants something to seat at least 8 people. I've been eyeing the new Seadoo's becuase they are a nice looking boat and seem to have plenty of power. Does anyone currently have one? If not, could anyone give me there opinion on these?

Thanks in advance.
Jeff

Re: Seadoo boats

My son has a 20' Challenger and it's a great boat. The jet goes anywhere in shallow water and it goes like stink, about 50 mph. Great for skiing, tubing, etc, no prop to cut the skier to pieces. It uses a little more gas than a regular boat but if you have to worry about that you shouldn't be buying a B.O.A.T (Bring Over Another Thousand). :)

Re: Seadoo boats

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm strongly considering the Seadoo Utopia 205. It's pretty similar to the challenger but a bit more roomy. I plan on teaching my wife to drive it so I can ski more and the dealer's that I talked to said the jet drives are an easy system for both steering and control since there is no Tilt/trim to worry about. Also said it turns and responds much better at lower speeds with is good for her.

Thanks again for the response

Jets use more gas than I/O. With an 8 person load that difference will be even greater. There are now I/O deckboats with Extended Swim Platform options to help keep swimmers away from the prop.

Drive before you buy,
Kelly Cook

Absolutely love my 20' Challenger. They do handle easily, but at really low RMPs are harder to maneuver. Don't know what that salesman was telling you. We don't have a problem, though, because it is easy enough to get close to the dock and pull around with the dock hook.
