Hey Mud Puppy, I've just been having a quick look at your thread, looks like you've got some work ahead of you. The way your boats gunwale is finished at the back is exactly what I'm aiming for with mine, those picture just made it so much clearer how it will look when it's all done.

Hey 3-08! Glad I could help (I like it when I can)! Throw some shrimp on the barbie and I'll be down!

EDIT: Post #30 has some pretty good photos of the stern portion of the hull cap in after I cut it, laying in the boat.

I've got it drawn in out in CAD if you need it for proportions.

Both sides trimmed down to size, now I just have to do the flange on the port side and build a hole new flange accross the back.

Well I've spent the last week and a half making a mold and glassing in the new section of gunwale at the back.

I still need to trim it down to around where that line is...

Wow! I was just thinking yesterday about your build and what the weather was like there.

Even though it has been a while since you have posted, it looks like it was well worth the wait!

Making good progress.

Thanks mate, I love doing these molded parts, nothing beats pulling the part from the mold and seeing how good it turned out.

The weather is actually really holding me back now, we had nothing but rain for almost a week now we're back to sunshine for a few more days but winter doesn't really start until next month.

So I've been working hard on the good days, I've just finished building a live bait tank that will attach under the gunwale, in hindsight I should of built it into the original mold, but whats done is done. The lay-up was just 4 layers of 450g CSM overlapping on ever corner. Not my best work, if I had to do it again I would leave off the lip at the top, it just made it to hard to glass. Some of the lay-up on this wasn't to good but it holds water and will be mounted under the gunwale anyway so cosmetics isn't really an issue....

The gunwale is trimmed down to size and I've started glassing a lip on to the transom to attach the gunwale rubber where the transom and gunwale connect. No pictures of this yet...
