Re: Seahawks Upset

I hope they do like the NBA. It's the same type of deal for getting in to the playoffs, division winners followed by best record for non division but.....
The higher seed does not get home court advantage over a team with a better record. That's the key in my opinion. You are still rewarded for winning the division (as you should be) but a team with a fantastic record also does not give up anything to a worse division winner...

Ooooo, I like the sound of this. Who knew, the NBA actually does something right?!

Yeah but home court advantage in a seven game series (NBA) is not nearly as big a deal as home field advantage in the NFL where if you lose one time you are out.

Seahawks are really upset today ... They are heading home. Looks like the Pack v Bears rematch.

At 4:40 in the 4th, the Bears stick the fork in the Seahawks. 35-10.
UPDATE: final 35-24 Bears.
Packers-Bears next. The way the Bears played today, I may be rooting for them in the next one! (even though I don't care much for Jay Cutler after the Denver days.)

Re: Seahawks Upset

You are proving his most annoying comment, btw. Where were the Saints yesterday?

Nope, I was doing something that I very rarely do at iboats - reminding someone why they shouldn't make inappropriate comments. As for the where the Saints are - probably at home watching the playoffs with Lombardi trophies in the bookcase right next to the widescreen. Considering how rare it is for teams to win the SB two years in a row (4 have done it in 44 years), that's a pretty normal situation.

When the Seahawks beat the Saints, I congratulated them and said that I hope they take it all the way. Frankly, I'm not surprised at today's outcome, but I was hoping for the best for them. So much for the obnoxious Saints fan theory.
