I 've a Sea King motor with the following: gg8837a model#, and 06x813952 serial#. Made by Gale Products, Galesburg, Illinios for Montgomery Ward. Like to know HP and spark plugs spec's. Had it running fine after carb over haul and new plugs. Ran for 15min's full power and then after shuttung down for fishing started up running half power. Have restored 14ft aluminium Vbottom runabout that came in a package deal. Was reported to be a 1955 Sea King boat and motor. Looking for manual as well.

It's a 1960 35 hp. It uses J-6C spark plugs gapped at .030.
Point gap is .020, Fuel/oil is 24:1
I have a generic manual for it, but it is on paper. If you have a specific question I could look it up for you.

There is an extremely good chance that the coils are shot. But it could also be just dirty points or something. No matter, you still have to pull the flywheel to find out. Expect coils. They have new ones here at iboats. Same as those in a '60 Johnson and Evinrude 40.

I need a part# for coils and points for my 1960 Sea King 35hp motor. Can you cross ref. to Johnson/Evanrude #'s?

Re: seak king motor ID's

I have replaced the coils and reset the points and put new plugs.
Still have the problem of running fine for 20 mins then only half speed.
Would over heating cause this problem and should I check the water pump?

Does that half speed come on like you turned off a switch?
Dissconnect and ground one plug wire at a time see if it will run.
If it runs on one at a time then you have a fuel supply problem.
Does it respond when you squeeze the primer bulb?Does it respond to the choke when faltering.
You can check cooling by CAREFULLY feeling the head should be too hot to hold your hand on but not so hot it burns you.CAREFUL.

Doesn't respond to bulb squezing. Have new tank and new bulb and line.
Does run on one cyc. Using 24:1 fuel mix. What does the water discharge from the pump look like? Haven't tested heat at the heads while runnning.
My boat isn't at home now, will be later in the month.(at my son's in Atlanta)

Thanks for your help.
