Any help you can give would be great! Thank you in advance. I have a 1980 Clinton Seaking. It idols pretty well but when I took it out it spit and sputtered. I thought I cleaned the carb really well. Ideas?

Also, any ideas where I can get a rebuld kit for the carb?
How do I i.d. the carb and find part number?

I made a new gasket to go between the carb and the engine body because I thought it might be sucking air. I pulled and checked all the jets I could find. I set the float as best I could. I ran the bowl scew in all the way and backed it out 1.5 turns; same with the mixture screw. Still, when I put it in gear and try to run it up, it dies or almost dies.

Please help/

Be sure your fuel is good and has proper mix. See that screen at fuel line in fuel tank is clean. Next check points condition and gap. I think .020. Condencer could be bad as well as plug or coil. Plug gap should be .030. May be a trial and error deal.

Re: seaking 5hp runs rough

Thanks guys! I appreciate your time.
Progress:
I checked the points and they were clean and gapped properly. Gas is new and mixed 24:1. Screen is non existant. Fuel lines have been replaced.

Questions:
I ordered a carb kit and it's on the way. Does anyone know the initial settings for the float, bowl needle, and air fuel mixture screw?

The mystery continues.
