Seal Kit

I need a seal kit for my lower unit for 1974 johnson 40 hp. Iboats skips from 1970-1976 on the 40 electric shift. They do have an e-tec 40 kit that says all anyone used one? I want to make sure it is right so I don't drop a needless $40

Say what? The 1974 40hp is not electric shift. Or to put it another way, if it is electric shift, it is not a 1974.
