Hi all. Need the right part number - the exploded parts diagram shows 2 seals. Location - output shaft on the upper gear box. The lowest seal that is right in front of the water pocket. I was replacing a half melted pocket and noticed a piece of the seal spring hanging in there. Diagrams appear to show 2 different seals at that location: 26-96503 and 26-32511.

Noticed on achris's video that it is recommended leave the o-ring off that shaft. That's probably what gutted the seal out.

Now I also get to weld a nut to one of the water pocket cap screws. Broke off removing it. At least 3/16 or so is sticking up, so get to run a nut down on it and weld the center. Fun - not sure I ever had to weld on a 1/4 inch nut before. Pretty small. Wish me luck.

Thanks for confirmation! Stern drive serial listed below.

yep, there are 2 different seals there.one seals the oil #11 in the upper unit and the other seals water out of the shaft area. 11 is replaced after you disassemble the upper.10 can be changed without disassembly
