ok folks, I replace the boot on the back of my omc 800 stringer, I use the black 3m marine sealer, on the tupe it says tack dry in 48hrs, completely dry in 7days, its been 5days already, should hold out the water now right??? or should I just bite the bullet and wait a couple of more days???

Re: sealant???

If you don't wait the COMPLETE seven days (168 hours)before exposing to water, an evil thing happens with this sealant.. Approx. one to two months from now, the sealant will start to become brittle.. Small cracks will appear and let water through.. You'll know when this is about to happen as a feighnt smell of musk will be noticed.... It's a real bummer...You'll have to redo the job completely..................................... JK... (gotcha):)
