Please cut and paste this list, then add your recommendations of what sealers and gasket compounds to use where. Please include complete item names and numbers and where to buy them if they are hard to find.

1) Outdrive to Pivot Housing -

This is the surfaces that you seal when you remove the OD and replace it. Add if you use gasket compound on both sides of the gasket. Do you add sealer on the outside of the joint after installing the OD?

2) Shift Cable to Pivot housing -
This is where the aft end of the shift cable threads into the back of the pivot housing. There is an O-Ring here.

3) Drain plug on starboard side of OD -
This is where you can drain water from the OD at the shift cable. There is an O-ring here.

4) The bolts that hold the OD -

The idea here is just to prevent the bolts from seizing up.

Per Lou:

1) Outdrive to Pivot Housing - Evinrude/OMC gasket sealer or Merc Perfect seal. Permatex Aviation is a good alternative

When installing the drive:
1st clean the mating surfaces of the upper drive housing and the pivot housing
coat the threads of the 6 studs on the pivot housing with sealer
coat the sealing surfaces of both the pivot housing and the upper drive housing with sealer
coat both sides of the drive to pivot gasket generously with sealer
coat inner lip of d/s bellows and bearing carrier that fits into it when drive is slid on with Evinrude triple guard grease (this is in the OMC manual) coat driveshaft splines with triple guard as well; lube the 2 o-rings with motor oil.
all this info is in the OMC factory shop manual; that’s where u fit it from.
