I have been working on my boat and have cut a hole for a inspection hatch so I can have my anchor rope stored in the cabin and pull it up through the hatch and then attach to my anchor. However my bow is made of plywood. On the inside it have a thin layer of fiberglass on the out side it seems to be mainly gel coat, is there any other product I can use other the fiber glass resin to seal this wood, for example silicon (works in bathrooms) or window adhesive like sikaflex (urethane)

The inspection plate should have a flang on it that would fit inside the hole right ? ..

If so then bed the plate flange with 3m 4000 and you should be good to go.

If the inside ever leaks..then you can remove the plate..dig out about 3/4" of ply and fill it with epoxy paste ..

Thanks guys... the only reason i didn't just use epoxy or resin is i have run out, so i didn't want to buy a whole tin to seal one little bit, but i will have heaps of use for this while putting my boat back together:D
