A leak began in the bottom of the fuel tank on my mower. The fuel line comes out the bottom of the tank.Looks like clear fishtank tubing. It leaks where the tubing goes through the tank.It connects to a small fuel filter with a barb on the bottom which butts up to the bottom of the inside of the tank.Looks like the barb when inside the tubing is what goes through the hole in the bottom of the tank.I am going to change the tubing in hopes of the new tubing filling the hole better .Any suggestions on what type of sealant to use at the connection to prevent any leaks?? There is a product called plastic weld which will repair the tank if cracked. Just use a nylon zip lock tie as a hose clamp and that might help. I doubt I would use any sealant.

No sealer required. The new hose will probably cure your problem.

A hot glue gun that melts those nylon sticks works on plastic fuel tanks.

I replaced the fuel line with black auto hose that is a tiny bit larger.Really snug through the hole in the bottom of the tank.I dont see how it can leak now so I am passing on the sealant until I try this way out.I will let you know.BTW,it is a craftsman and Im sure it is also too old for a recall.:'(

My 6.5 Craftsman leaked too but it was due to all the cracks in the tank, not the hose.

That, along with all the other problems I'v had with this thing has ensured that this is my LAST Craftsman lawnmower!!!

Hellooooo Honda.
