I purchased a brand new boat. Love everything about it. It's a 2010 Hurricane Sundeck Sport 188 OB and my second Hurricane boat. Part of the reason I bought this boat is my current 8 year old Hurricane is still in amazing condition, but I just wanted something a little larger and more ponies on the back.
However, what baffles me in this new boat is that in the storage compartments (under the helm and another storage area directly across) they didn't glass the plywood on the floor. Again, this is only in the two storage areas.
Not sure why and from experience with my old boat, nothing wet gets put in these areas but is still susceptible to water/moisture.
I know this isn't a restoration question, but assume the resto guys would be the best to query.
What can I do to better seal this area? I'm not sure what is there beyond paint and a basic sealant (don't have the boat yet to really check it out)
Anything I can do besides adding a fiberglass coating to protect it?
