I am looking at a 1997 2588 Walkaround Seamaster to purchase.I am not familiar with this brand. Does anyone have an opinion as to the overall quality of this manufacturer?

Re: Seamaster Boats

I think this outfit went out of business in 2003 or 2004.

United Marine (SeaMaster & SeaSprite)
P.O. Seamaster is a duplicate of Seasport, but uses 88 in the numbers instead of 44 and are also made by United Marine.

The Sea Sport boats from the west coast are a pilot house and are no way related.

Hello Seadog:
Structurally the boat is OK and it runs decent but the fit and finish is not that great. I have the Mercruiser 4.3 I/O. The Seasports are the higher-grade models with upgraded components and trim.

More search comments on Seamaster/United Marine:
http://www.wmi.org/www/boating/boatboard/t21262.htm
