I got this boat for free but there are quite a few things that make me weary of keeping it/restoring it. However, i somehow feel the need to restore this boat because I always need something to do and I think that after restoring it, I could have a nice boat for less money and add the personal touches that will make it even more valuable to me personally.

First off, some pictures of how it sits now...

Re: SeaRay srv 180

Some of my major problems include my lack of knowledge about boats in general, though I am mechanically inclined I have never owned a boat, seen how one works or learned any of the parts/technical terms involved.

The boat did not come with a title and im not sure how to get one/if i can.

The big opening in the interior...i have no idea what thats all about

The motor is NOT seized but does not turn over with ignition, or directly putting the battery power to the starter.

Trailer is in rough shape, but fixable. I would say this is the least of my problems

Any help/input/comments please feel free. I joined these forums for all three. Mostly because the forums for my car/jeep have been so helpful that the moment this boat landed in my hands i looked for a boat forum to hopefully help me as much as the others have.

Re: SeaRay srv 180

Welcome to iBoats

The Cost of Marine Mechanical can be very HIGH. That motor and outdrive could set you back 3-6 thousand depending on what all is required. Titling could also be a problem. What if it was stolen? Make sure it can be titled before you spend ANY MONEY AT ALL. Then Do some serious preliminary research on the mechanicals. The interior and fiberglass cosmetics could be a couple of thousand but the titling and the mechanicals are the most important.

Good Luck:)
