anyone help me im trying to find the serial number of my engine cannot find one i looked at the manual to see where are the tag located and all the places it not there. so how i identifymy motor all i know its a 4 cylinder engine my boat is a1984 mercruiser. more info please write back.

If it still has one, and if it's the original engine, then the SN should be on a tag on the back of the motor just above the starter.

Ayuh,.... I'm guessin' it can only be 1 of 3.... If it Doesn't have a radiator cap,...
You're in Luck,.... It's a Chevy...
To see which Chevy it is, the 3.0l has a harmonic balancer,... The 2.5l has Only a pulley...

Chances are, at that age, it may not be Original...

yes it has radiater cap green antifreeze and it has one pulley it has a ford starter relay and it has ford starter.

470 how are you sure just asking dont take me wrong but for my information i will learn to identify motor with no tags

you know what your wright i just found it on a different page looking up part i couldnt find none i was looking at adiffernet motor. when you told me it was a 470 i look at it and found it thanks a million.
