Hi I have just gotten a 3.5 hp gas ourboard from dad, I think it is pretty old. I need parts for it. I can not seem to find parts for it and I'm not even sure who made it or the year. This is all the information on the motor plate.

H.P. Go to the Antique Outboard Club website at aomci.org and click on their Ask-A-Member section. Post your question and serial numbers and someone there can probably help you. Sears was a distributor for motors made by several different manufacturers over the years. You can still get parts for some Sears motors on their PartsDirect.com website. Good Luck!

I think you have an Elgin. Check the Model # again and see if it is 574-***** instead of 547-*****

Re: Sears 3.5 hp

I have a 3.5 hp Sears outboard that I need to dig out and start working on again. It needs a new reed valve (one of the 4 reeds is bent). This one has a Techumseh power head. I'll try my local Techumseh (and Briggs, etc.) small engine shop first, then the nearest (100-200 miles) outboard repair/buy/sell/trade yard.
ciscoyac, what state are you in? This outboard dealer is in central MN if you're interested.
