Hi,

Here's what I have...
Sears Gamefisher Model 298586193 No. 14608 3hp

I had to take out the air adjustment needle for cleaning.

Since I thought it was a normal mixture needle I didn't check to see how many turns out it was.

The motor would run awhile and quit, then leak gas out the air muffler.

I turned the needle in till it ran ok and quit leaking. I'd feel better if someone could tell me if there was a specific setting or how to adjust it.

I still have to let it cool off than see if it will start and run ok.

Thanks. Bob

I thought that was a Tanaka but I can't find a reference to an air needle.
I would think if you get it adjusted warm in gear it should work.

I think the Tanaka and Sears are the same motor. I called it an air needle because that's what they look like on some Lawn Boys

It's the only adjustment needle on the carburetor.

Does your information say what spark plug gap to use? Thanks.

I put a new plug in and that kept it running.

Now it is very difficult to get it started. It acts like it isn't geting gas. If it does start it runs for 10 seconds and quits.

The carb had been soaked a few hours in Gunk cleaner, new fuel line with fuel filter.

Once it does start and warms up it runs great.
