Buddy just gave me a Sears Gamefisher 3.5 in very good shape but sitting for a while. I found a exploded parts list at sears.com but no owners manual download or for sale anymore. Anybody have one to scan and upload? Im going to rebuild it tip top for my Sea Eagle 9 and would love to see owners info.

It has cooling fins on the jug but I also see little frost plugs on the crank case and the exploded parts list shows a water tube. Water and air cooled?

Also, I'm an aircraft mech and I know why airplanes have mixture controls but why do outboards have mixture controls? I have never found a lake at 12,500 feet nor seen a lawnboy two stroke lawn mower with a mixture control.

Thanks

Jack....

The motor was built by Eska.It uses an aircooled Tecumseh power head with a water cooled exhaust leg.
Your motor is a 78.It has a water pump.If cooling properly water should mist out of relief holes in the leg.
These motors are marginal performers I wouldn't put too much money into a fix up.You might try Certified Parts corp for parts.

Thanks Spike... I found the float bowl full of powder and corroded through. I'm going to try to glass epoxy the pin holes and if it runs I might invest $4.00 for a new bowl. Sears actually has one in stock.

Thanks for the marginal performance note. I don't think I'll sink much money into it if I can't get her to run fair.

Just to emphasize, home.earthlink.net/~brixent/ is excellent place for parts for this motor, and they'll even answer all your parts questions by email!
