Just bought a used one. Never had an OB this small before. Almost freaked when didn't discharge stream of water while running (after reading posts here I now understand they're air-cooled and not supposed to shoot a stream out...That is right isn't it???) <br />Model 217-586611 and serial # 48-003790. Can anyone enlighted me about this baby? Seems like a very nice little motor. Thanks in advance for your help.

I couldn't find that number but it is built by Eska and has the Tecumseh air cooled power head and water cooled exhaust leg.Water should mist out of the relief holes. You should be certain water is deep enough to cover the pump to be sure the pump can work.

Re: Sears Gamefisher 5 HP....Now what?

Brad Wilson,
I have just purchased a 5HP Gamefisher the same model #217-586611(ser.# 48 -002793) also. I wondered about the port holes and the "sream of water" that was supposed to come out.

I am trying to find out the year this unit/ model was manufactured? Got any idea?
Also - seeking the plug gap setting?

Motor is a 84 one of the last years of production. Champion RJ13Y set at .030 is recommended for motors after 76. Water should mist out the relief holes.
